Miley Ray Cyrus's real name was Destiny Hope Cyrus. Born on November 23rd, 1992, in Franklin Tennessee the state of Tennessee, she was brought up in Thompson's Station Tennessee by Tish Cyrus. Miley has five brothers as well as sisters - two older siblings and a younger sibling. The family named her Miley as she represented a huge opportunity for the children. The nickname she was given in her childhood, Smiley, due to her infectious personality later changed to Miley. Her paternal great-grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. Cyrus together with her parents, moved to Toronto Canada at the age of 8 at the age of eight. Their father Billy Ray played a character in the TV show Doc. Around this time that Cyrus realized she was interested in learning to be an actor as well. In Doc (2001), she was a part of the family with her father. She also played a minor role in Tim Burton's Big Fish. As of 2005, Cyrus had been cast in the main character in the Disney show Hannah Montana (2006), about a teen leading a double life as an aspiring pop singer. In this instance, Cyrus' dad also appeared with her. The show went down a storm and hit records as well as sell-out shows and merchandising deals soon came. Cyrus turned into a teenager-friendly star. Cyrus started to play various roles in the wake of her popularity as Hannah Montana (2006). This included roles as Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song, 2010) and Lola (in LOL (2012)), alongside Demi Moor.
